Hello,
It’s around that time of the month when I would typically be sending out the multiple choice quiz on local news, but based on feedback I received from our recent community survey I’ve decided to discontinue these quizzes for the foreseeable future.
I created these quizzes based on the belief that games can be a way to make staying informed about local news fun, and I still believe that. With that in mind, I’d love to get your input on these other news game ideas that I may develop going forward:
Triangle Timelines: An interactive game where you place local events in the correct order, similar to the New York Times Flashback game.
Who Said It?: Match a list of quotes to the local personalities that said them.
Where Did It Happen?: Pin a headline to a map of the Historic Triangle—did it happen in Williamsburg, York County, James City County, or elsewhere?
Some other announcements:
Podcast Update: I’m combining the monthly local history podcasts with Triangle Tidbits into one Round the Triangle podcast. This new format will be released as interesting things pop up—sometimes that might mean two episodes in two weeks, other times nothing for a few weeks.
AI-Assisted School Board Summaries Update: As some of you know, I've been working on AI-assisted summaries of our local school board meetings, and these changes will allow me to focus more on those and expand them to cover other meetings. Starting this month, I will also be sending out an AI-assisted summary of the WJCC School Board Work Session on May 7 in addition to the summary of the regular board meeting on May 21.
This project is still in its testing phase, and I believe it has the most potential to benefit RTT subscribers. If you're interested in exclusive early access, consider upgrading to a paid subscription at just $5 per month or $50 per year. Or, refer a friend to sign up for a free subscription, and you’ll receive a complimentary month of access!
Thank You! As always, I am immensely grateful for all y’all’s support. It's your interest and feedback that drive Round the Triangle to continuously improve. Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts on the proposed changes or anything else you'd like to see from me. Have a good weekend!
