Here are some agenda items I’ll be watching:
Extension of third-party transportation contract to cover the current shortage of 20 bus drivers in the school division.
Annual report from the Special Education Advisory Committee, which requested updates to grading policy to better accommodate students with disabilities.
The revised Admission of Homeless Children policy to ensure better support and access to education for homeless children.
Amendments to Worker’s Compensation Policy including more comprehensive injury reporting and return-to-work procedures.
WJCC Literacy Plan in line with the Virginia Literacy Act, aiming to bring 85% of K-12 students to state literacy standards by 2028.
